This Privacy Policy explains how Adrien Kwong (sole proprietor), operating SgFindLawyer at https://sgfindlawyer.com (collectively, "we", "our", "us"), collects, uses, discloses, and protects personal data. We comply with Singapore's Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (PDPA) and its subsidiary legislation.
1. What we collect
When you submit our enquiry form, we collect:
- Your name
- Your contact details (email and/or phone)
- Selected practice area
- Brief description of your matter (optional)
- Source page (the URL on our site from which you submitted)
- Submission timestamp
When you browse the site, our hosting provider (Netlify) may log standard technical data such as IP address, device, browser, and referring URL for security and performance purposes. We do not sell this data.
2. Why we collect it
Personal data submitted through our enquiry form is collected for one purpose: to forward your enquiry to participating Singapore-qualified solicitors in your selected practice area so that they may contact you about your matter.
By submitting the form and ticking the consent box, you provide express consent under PDPA s 14 for us to share the data you provide with participating law firms in the practice area you select.
3. Who we share it with
We share the data you submit with practising Singapore solicitors and law firms participating in our directory, limited to those in the practice area you select. We do not share enquiry data with marketing networks, data brokers, or other third parties.
We may use the following data processors strictly to deliver our service:
- Resend — to deliver form submissions to our editorial inbox by email.
- Google LLC — Google Sheets for internal record-keeping of enquiries received.
- Netlify, Inc. — site hosting, edge functions, and request logging.
These processors are bound by their own data-protection terms. Data may be processed on servers outside Singapore; where this occurs, we rely on the transfer mechanisms permitted under PDPA s 26 and the Personal Data Protection (Transfer of Personal Data Outside Singapore) Regulations 2021.
4. How long we keep it
Enquiry data is retained for up to 24 months for record-keeping, dispute resolution, and audit purposes, then deleted or anonymised. You may request earlier deletion at any time (see "Your rights" below). Email records are retained for the same period.
5. Your rights under the PDPA
Under the PDPA, you have the right to:
- Access — request a copy of personal data we hold about you (PDPA s 21).
- Correction — ask us to correct inaccurate personal data (PDPA s 22).
- Withdraw consent — withdraw your consent for us to continue holding or sharing your data (PDPA s 16). Note that if you have already been contacted by a participating lawyer, that lawyer holds your data independently of us; you would need to contact them directly to exercise rights against them.
- Complain — file a complaint with the Personal Data Protection Commission (PDPC) at pdpc.gov.sg if you believe we have mishandled your personal data.
To exercise these rights, email hello@sgfindlawyer.com with a clear description of the request. We aim to respond within 30 days as required by PDPA s 21(1).
6. Data security
We make reasonable security arrangements as required by PDPA s 24, including TLS for all data in transit, restricted access to enquiry records, and regular audit of our data-processor agreements. No system is perfectly secure; please do not send sensitive personal data (NRIC, bank details, health information) through the enquiry form.
7. Cookies and analytics
SgFindLawyer does not currently use marketing cookies or third-party analytics trackers. Our hosting provider may use functional cookies necessary for site operation. If we introduce analytics in future, this policy will be updated and a cookie banner will be presented as required by the PDPA Guidelines on the Use of Cookies.
8. Children
SgFindLawyer is not directed at persons under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. If you believe a minor has submitted personal data, please email us and we will delete it promptly.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our practices or the law evolve. Material changes will be flagged with a notice on this page. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
