These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of https://sgfindlawyer.com (the "Site") and the services offered through it (the "Service") operated by Adrien Kwong (sole proprietor) ("we", "our", "us"). By accessing or using the Site, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. Not a law practice
SgFindLawyer is not a law practice. We do not provide legal advice and we do not act as advocate or solicitor for any person. Nothing on the Site creates a solicitor-client relationship between you and us.
The Site is an information platform and lawyer directory. Editorial content is general information about Singapore law. Featured lawyers and law firms are independent practitioners regulated by the Law Society of Singapore under the Legal Profession Act 1966.
2. No solicitor-client relationship via this Site
Submitting an enquiry through the Site does not create a solicitor-client relationship between you and any featured lawyer. A solicitor-client relationship is formed only when you and a Singapore-qualified lawyer expressly agree, typically by signing an engagement letter as required by Rule 17 of the Legal Profession (Professional Conduct) Rules 2015.
Until that engagement is in place, do not rely on any communication with us or with prospective lawyers as legal advice, and do not assume confidentiality of unsolicited communications.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a legally binding contract under Singapore law to use the Service. By using the Service, you represent that you meet these requirements.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent information through any form.
- Use the Service to harass, defame, or harm any person or law firm.
- Attempt to access non-public areas of the Site or any systems behind it.
- Scrape, crawl, or copy substantial portions of the Site for commercial use without permission.
- Interfere with the operation of the Site (e.g. denial-of-service, malware).
- Use the Service in a way that violates Singapore law or the laws of any other applicable jurisdiction.
5. Content accuracy and currency
We aim to keep editorial content accurate and current, and we link statute citations to Singapore Statutes Online so you can verify. Despite this, Singapore law changes and pages may lag. You should not act on any information on the Site without first verifying it with a Singapore-qualified lawyer.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we exclude all warranties, representations, and conditions about the accuracy, completeness, or currency of content on the Site.
6. Featured lawyers and directory listings
Inclusion in our directory is editorial and is not an endorsement of any particular lawyer or firm beyond verification of the criteria described on our About page. Sponsored placements are clearly labelled.
We do not take referral fees, commissions, or any percentage of fees billed by featured lawyers. Lawyers participate on a flat-fee subscription model consistent with Rule 39 of the Legal Profession (Professional Conduct) Rules 2015.
We are not responsible for advice, conduct, or fees of any featured lawyer. Your engagement with any lawyer is solely between you and that lawyer or their firm.
7. Lead handling and your data
When you submit an enquiry, the personal data you provide is handled under our Privacy Policy and the Singapore Personal Data Protection Act 2012.
8. Intellectual property
All editorial content, branding, design, and code on the Site is owned by or licensed to us and is protected by Singapore copyright and trade mark law. You may quote short excerpts with attribution and a link back to the original page. Wholesale republication is not permitted without prior written consent.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by Singapore law, neither we nor our directors, employees, contractors or agents will be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Site or the Service.
Our total aggregate liability arising out of or in connection with the Site or Service, on any basis, is limited to SGD 100.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any liability that cannot be excluded under Singapore law.
10. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claim, loss, damage or expense (including reasonable legal costs) arising out of your breach of these Terms or your misuse of the Service.
11. Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Singapore. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Singapore.
12. Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent change. Continued use of the Site after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
